Welbilts internship program is designed to expose individuals to all phases of the foodservice equipment value chain and will take place at the Corporate Headquarters in New Port Richey, FL. Through this program you will have the opportunity to: Broaden your real-world business knowledge and experience Receive an inside look at your potential career path Gain exposure to other functions and departments Strengthen professional skills in the areas of design conceptualization, customer interaction, functional requirement specifications, detailed mechanical and electrical design, equipment manufacturing, sub-system interfaces, new product development team activities, design for manufacturing and design for serviceability Share your experiences and present key learnings to a management team Report to Senior member of Engineering team Responsibilities: Function in an engineering capacity as part of the corporate Research and Development (R&D) team Focus on the area of Mechatronics, supporting the development of an automated grilling cell for a commercial kitchen Participate in all phases of front-end product development Design, prototype, assemble, test and validate components and sub-systems in support of overall project Create functional requirements and develop validation test plans to demonstrate requirement compliance Use 3D CAD modeling software to design mechanical components and assemblies Create a Design Failure Mode Elements Analysis (DFMEA) for components and subsystems. Plan reliability demonstration Attend daily functional project meetings, weekly project team meetings and monthly project review meetings Job Requirements Program Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Design) Engineering at an accredited school.
