  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Install, maintain and repair, as necessary, production welding equipment and electrical/electronic components of machinery and equipment. Assist Welding Specialist in research and development efforts to maximize efficiency and quality of welding as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

    Essential Functions

    • Diagnose and repair welding equipment
    • Repair of a variety of building/facility maintenance issues as related to welding needs
    • Machinery rebuilding, upgrades, refurbishments, and replacements of welding equipment
    • Experience in welding, metal fabricating, automation, and latest trends in industry
    • Able to cut with oxy-fuel, plasma cutters, and arc-gouging
    • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
    • Experience in electrical desired

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Work in a safe and conscientious manner
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, on-site and off-site training courses, cleaning, trash/scrap removal, and other tasks as outlined by management
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors
    • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus five to ten years of related experience
    • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
    • Familiarity with AWS codes and standards
    • Previous certifications in the following welding processes; FCAW, SAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW
    • Prior maintenance related experience, including electrical and pneumatic desired
    • Experience with automated welding systems and PLC’s preferred
    • High aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving with the ability to think outside the box
    • Familiar with NFPA 70 and the NEC codes and standards
    • NFPA safety certifications preferred

    Work Environment
    General office and production environment. Daily exposure to computer displays and shop environments.
