    Job Description

    We have a design and architecture track job opening in the Next Generation Platform Technologies. Our focus is exploration of embedded and datacenter compute, memory and storage architecture, and hardware prototyping and implementations. Our focus areas are:

    -       Design of embedded and high-performance RISC-V compute cores and toolchains for storage infrastructure hardware

    -       NVMe over fabric attached neural networking inferencing accelerators on FPGA and ASIC

    -       OpenTitan root of trust security architecture and implementation

    -       OmniXtend architecture and implementation of switches and endpoints

    -       Cache coherence architecture and cache coherence controllers

    -       Low latency memory controllers for emerging NVMs

    -       Machine learning architecture

    -       Computational storage

    -       Neuromorphic compute architecture and ASIC implementations

    Ideal candidate would work alongside WD Research scientists on conceiving, prototyping and guiding development of new projects and ideas, as well as writing invention disclosures and academic publications.

    Qualifications

    PhD or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with an interest or existing implementation experience in these areas.
