ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Trade Compliance Project Manager (Exports) will be responsible for implementing trade compliance projects that would reduce trade compliance risks to Western Digital.

• Lead and implement trade compliance solutions/projects to insert controls, add metrics/KPI, run analytics, and minimize trade risks throughout the organization
• Work with various stakeholders, including but not limited to trade operations, engineering, finance, procurement, supply chain/logistics, product development, IT and sales, to understand risk exposures and develop/implement solutions to mitigate such risks
• Provide subject matter expertise support/consultation to the global trade operations team in their set-up and continuous implementation of Oracle Global Trade Management
• Work with IT and/or other relevant stakeholders to develop automated solutions/processes to enable trade compliance group to better manage, analyze, obtain, and collect data relevant for trade compliance functions including classification, government reporting, KPI, risk assessment, etc. 
• Assist with developing processes and procedures, including change management processes
• Support self-classification or BIS Classification through SNAP-R.
• Identify and propose opportunities to reduce complexity and mitigate risk, including through automated solutions
• Set up KPIs and apply compliance analytics to analyze and mitigate trade gaps
• Audit internal processes for accuracy to ensure compliance with trade policies.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• BS/BA degree, graduate degree preferred

• 5+ years of trade compliance work experience (US and Global), preferably in high tech companies

• Strong working knowledge of EAR (Classification, CCL Category 5, Sanctions, MEU, SNAP-R, OFAC, CBP, AES/ACE, BIS annual/biannual ENC reporting

• Solid ERP experience (Oracle GTM preferred)

• Rich project management experience in trade compliance

• Tech savvy and comfortable dealing with systems and utilizing technology to address compliance needs

• Experience with data analytics, reporting, trade KPI metrics

• Understand and can apply import and export regulations to configuring systems and processes

• Knowledge of trade compliance requirements/export and import regulations of countries other than U.S. (Russia, China, HK, EU, IL, India etc.)

• Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively

• Flexible, hardworking team player and motivator with strong people skills

• Resilient and able to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs

• Attention to detail, critical thinking, excellent problem solving and analysis skills

• Nimble learner and quick to learn new and different technologies and stay abreast of emerging technologies

• Experience working with engineering and R&D teams

• Ability to make good decisions based on sound judgement

• Able to work independently with little supervision

• Skilled in MS Office suite of products (including MS Teams), Smartsheet, GTM, productivity and collaboration applications, Jive, Box, Webex, Jabber
