    Job Description

    • Drive product certifications across development teams, testing labs, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
    • Troubleshoot compliance issues while coordinating solutions with internal and external engineering functions and partners/suppliers.
    • Define certification test requirements and ensure testing reports are accurate, thorough and properly accounted for in complete filing packages.
    • Communicate certification status and issues in a clear, concise and timely manner to all impacted functions.
    • Focus on EMC and safety compliance. Support product development and help shape Western Digital’s best practices and processes certifying new products.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
    • 2 years of experience in consumer electronics field or equivalent and 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance design, testing and certifications.
    • Experience with safety certification (e.g. IEC 60950-1)
    • Experience with safety hazard identification including risk analysis and mitigation.
    • Experience with international certification schemes for memory technology equipment (e.g. CE marking, CB scheme, RCM, BSMI).

    Preferred qualifications:

    • MS degree in an Engineering or technical field.
    • Experience with regulatory processes related to and launching mass produced consumer electronics.
    • Hands-on experience in obtaining various industry certifications.
    • Experience with product safety analysis and investigation.
    • Experience working with other regulatory/voluntary certification activities including but not limited to EMC/RF/SAR.
    • Hands-on ability to perform safety testing.
    • Understanding of applicable worldwide regulatory standards in relation to memory products and requirements to obtain global product certification. Knowledge of typical regulatory requirements, international regulatory issues, industry best practices, and certification processes.
    • Excellent communicator of requirements, critical path, schedules, strong organizational skill and the ability to multitask across various disciplines and tasks.

    • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
    • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
    • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
