  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Develops embedded firmware for disk drives
    • Follows department processes and guidelines for firmware development
    • Creates firmware development plans and schedules
    • Work with cross functional teams to develop disk drive features and products
    • Find root cause for disk drives that have failed for apparent firmware related issues
    • Investigates and solves complex customer and factory issues
    • Trains and coaches less experienced engineers
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • B.S. in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent work experience, plus 6  or more yrs related experience, or
    • MS +4 or more yrs related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Phd +4 or more yrs related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

    SKILLS:

    • Able to work, collaborate and communicate effectively, and with integrity, in a team environment
    • Proficient in C, C++, common PC’s applications
    • Able to speak, read and write effective English
    • SATA, SAS, PCIe and SSD knowledge and experience is a plus
