    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Take full CMP production process ownership in a wafer manufacturing environment sustaining the production line, monitoring processes and equipment to ensure minimal deviations and meeting both quality and quantity specifications.
    • Work in the production line to improve process quality/sigma, cycle time, throughput, defects, and line yield.
    • Perform wafer failure analysis, troubleshooting, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Drive project planning, execution, summary, presentation, and delivery on time.
    • Develop and evaluate new CMP processing technology, methodology, and new tools to improve product yield, throughput, scraps, and cost.
    • Work with integration, development team and other modules on new products transfer into production and meet all the requirements.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • BS, MS or Ph.D  degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related engineering field, etc.
    • Minimum three years of hands-on CMP process experience in a fab environment, preferably in magnetic recording head fabrication. Experience with DOE, SPC, APC, JMP and Fab operating systems for wafer tracking and trouble shooting.
    • In-depth knowledge of CMP, post cleaning process, including school or wafer fabrication projects, recipe development, tools, consumables, metrologies, and related device integration fundamentals.
    • Fundamental knowledge of wafer-level device fabrication techniques (Photolithography, liftoff, chemical etch, plating, integration etc) and metrology (AFM, optical inspections tools and FIB, etc.)
    • Proficient of Data analysis software JMP and script language
    • Self-starter with strong initiative & detail-oriented approach
    • Must possess manufacturing process engineer mindset, ability to work in a high-pace dynamic environment and ability to multi-task
    • Eligible right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case in order to employ you

    SKILLS:

    • Must demonstrate excellent analytical, decision making and written and verbal communications skills to facilitate exchanges between various departments within the company.
    • Able to work on the resolution of process issues and to interact with various interdepartmental engineering and support organizations.
    • High accountability and responsibility. Fit in both working independently, and team player. Detail-oriented and willing to learn new integration, process, and advanced technology skills in a fast-pace cross-functional manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated leadership and project driving skills, capable of managing projects with set milestones and timeline, and ability to execute with minimal supervision
    • Strong project management skills, capable of managing projects with setting milestones and timelines, and capability to execute with minimal supervision
    • Hands on experience on CMP tools, understand APC and fab operating system
