  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Conduct and lead research and development projects on technology staging of advanced magnetic ePMR media including determination of specific product designs

    • Responsible for advanced media development and technology roadmap for future generation HDD products. Oversee the integration of the new technologies in to the new product designs

    • Lead research projects on advanced media development to explore design tradeoffs; reach decision and meet the product development schedules.

    • Interface with test group, HDD team and Asia counterpart process teams to finalize & optimize product media configurations.

    • Engineer must establish close collaboration with peers and must exercise creativity to enable progress in staging magnetic media development

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Ph.D., M.S, degree in Physics, Materials Science, ECE or related field
    • 3-5 years of prior experience in disk drive industry is highly desired
    • The candidate should have a strong research background in Magnetic thin film media, thin film synthesis, magnetic material properties, advanced characterization and knowledge in magnetic recording
    • Experience with statistical data analysis and Design of Experiment (DOE) is required
    • Demonstrated innovation abilities, good written, verbal, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
