    Job Description

    Western Digital System Integration Test (SIT) Lab is seeking a Technician to assist the engineering team during test and characterization activities. Western Digital’s SIT Lab performs storage, sub system, and device level testing on Western Digital's entire enterprise product line.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The technician will assist with executing tests for enterprise HDD and SSD drive programs, specifically on Channel systems, interpreting test results, assist with first level FA, status reporting, maintenance and organization of Channel systems, and running automated test suites.

    REQUIRED:

    • Qualified candidates will have a Diploma or higher in an engineering discipline.

    SKILLS:

    • Skills and/or prior experience should also include:
    • Basic understanding of computers, networks and storage
    • Ability to manage execution of test efforts with minimal supervision
    • Organize, bring up and maintain lab systems
    • Assist the engineers with interpreting test results, first level debug, status reporting, acquiring drive logs
    • Responsible for maintaining and tracking drive inventory, system inventory, tools, etc.
    • Ability to troubleshoot minor system issues and able to handle preventative maintenance
    • Ability to maintain supporting infrastructure
    • Working knowledge of office tools - Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), etc.
    • Linux command line abilities and navigation in addition to Windows, is a plus
    • Ability to modify and write simple test scripts is a plus
