    Job Description

    We are looking for a Business Operations Analyst of Business Management and planning for Flash Business Strategy and Operations at Western Digital. This position is responsible for Datacenter Flash product business planning, pricing forecast and implementation, and in quarter business execution of respective sales accounts to achieve Datacenter Flash overall revenue, margin and share target. This role reports to the Director of Datacenter Flash Business Planning and Pricing.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

    PLANNING:

    • Work with Datacenter Flash business leads to implement Datacenter near/long term business goals (Revenue, Share, Margin) into rolling financial and operation forecast.
    • Work closely with Finance to ensure timely submission of financial forecast into system and provide business insight and variance analysis for financial reviews.
    • Work with respective sales teams and business operations team to incorporate proper demand, supply allocation and product mix in product portfolio forecast.
    • Work with segment marketing to publish by accounting planning book: TAM/volume/Share, assumptions, key financial metrics, account strategy.
    • Periodically meet with Industry analysts for market insights; provide market research insight and analytics including actuals, trending, competitive analysis (technology, product, region/customer/segment mix, price, cost)
    • Support in providing data for Datacenter business slides for earning/board meeting, customer/internal business reviews.

    PRICING:

    • Negotiate pricing deal terms with sales, model key financial drivers (volume, share, product mix, price, supply); articulate and guide sales team on deal positioning; drive communication and work cross-functionally to close price negotiations and deals aligned to business targets
    • Provide business analytics including pricing economics, win/loss, competitive landscape, price trends, price volume sensitivity and other pricing intelligence and dashboard reports for business performance metrics.
    • Manage deal Implementation, work with corporate pricing operation team in deal pricing delegation, quoting and approval process, T&Cs, business letters, program or rebate tracking and reconciliation.

    BUSINESS EXECUTION:

    • Monitor shipment attainment, customer/Sales demand dynamics, Supply allocation, inventory status, shipment linearity for respective accounts.
    • Work with business operations and finance to assess Risk & Opportunity; recommend target adjustment / change of course; drive quarter close task with respective sales team.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in Revenue planning, financial planning, Sales finance, business and product planning, or other business-related managerial field
    • Storage industry knowledge is preferred but not required
    • Demonstrated leadership and business acumen in driving cross-functional discussions and solving problems
    • Strong communication and presentation skill in both verbal and written
    • Energetic and proactive, being able to drive multiple projects under time pressure
    • Highly analytical, extremely detail oriented and able to provide data driven analytics for decisions.
    • Savvy with predictive modeling and data analytics tools including Excel, Tableau, SQL, PowerBI

    • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
    • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado or remote jobs that can be performed in Colorado.  This range may be modified in the future.
    • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
