    Job Description

    The Engineer will participate in the development of our next generation Electronics to support our Storage Products along with our ODM partners. This individual will be responsible for developing designs as well as managing our ODMs to ensure that they understand and meet the requirements of our electronic specifications. A background in Storage (HDD, SSD, SD), while not a requirement is a plus. 

     

    The Candidate should expect to work across many time zones based upon our varied locations around the world and our main base of operations being in the United States.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Writing Technical Specifications for their designs as well as for the designs that we need our ODM partners to execute. 
    • Must plan individual work as assigned, review plans with manager(s) and group lead(s) and provide status updates.
    • Must have the ability to manage time and set priorities in situations where many simultaneous work assignments have to be completed within the same time frame. 
    • Must complete assigned tasks that meet quality, functionality and scheduled objectives.
    • Must use sound engineering principles to design and architect systems and subsystems.
    • Must have ability to work within internal and external (ODM) cross-functional teams. 
    • Must have the ability to articulate ideas within cross-functional discussions.
    • Present or assist in the presentation of design improvement ideas, issue resolution, and analysis of technical data.
    • Perform and facilitate specification reviews, design reviews and technical data analysis. 
    • Must use sound engineering principles to identify and resolve system and component-level issues. 
    • Must have the ability to recognize where process improvements are required and be proactive in the creation of new efficient processes where needed. 
    • Provide verbal and written status including reports to Manager and/or other staff members.

     

     

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years’ experience in Controller Design. 
    • Must be familiar with the most recent Intel and ARM Architectures. 
    • Candidate should be able to demonstrate design experience with the following Interfaces: USB, SATA, Thunderbolt, Ethernet and Wireless (802.11ac). Bluetooth and Near Field Communications (NFC) a plus 
    • Project Management experience is an important aspect of this job 
    • Motivated individual with excellent English writing and oral communication skills.
    • Mandarin fluency is a requirement.
    • Must be able to travel (~20%). (Post COVID Requirement)
