ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
He/She will be responsible for creating automated test cases for testing storage devices such as hard drives. The role will involve working with product firmware design and development activities to understand the features
and create exhaustive, efficient test cases to ensure correctness of implementation. The candidate is expected to be familiar with automated testing of complex products. The tests are to be created using Python or TCL.
Good mastery of any scripting language is necessary. The candidate should have good debugging skills must be able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes firmware designs and translate those designs into test specifications
Create new and/or update existing firmware test cases from test specifications and designs
Perform failure analysis on test cases, making necessary updates to test cases or working with FW engineers to change code behavior
Provide mentorship to team members
Works to create strong synergy between FW development and test development team
Drive/participate in technical reviews
Participate in planning activities
Ensure test processes are effectively followed, with strong aptitude and awareness toward corrective actions
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
EDUCATION
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years of industry experience, preferably in an embedded systems environment
Knowledge of scripting languages including Python and TCL
Familiarity with lab debugging tools such as logic analyzers, bus analyzers and scopes
Experience in Windows and/or Linux based development environments
Knowledge of Hard Disk Drives and/or Solid State Drives (SAS, SATA, PCI-e/NVMe interfaces) is a plus
Experience in C/C++ in an embedded environment.
SOFT SKILLS:
Good organizational skills
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
