    Job Description

    Western Digital® is seeking a SENIOR MARKETER who is passionate about creating awareness for our products and driving sales through search engines. This full-time position is based in San Jose, and reports to our Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing.

    The right candidate for this role is a creative and analytical marketing strategist with experience developing paid search campaigns, and leading paid search, preferably at an enterprise company. The successful candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for turning big ideas into action.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop a worldwide, holistic search engine marketing (SEM) strategy for Western Digital’s products.
    • Build and help lead the team that executes campaigns within that strategy.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to attract and acquire customers through better paid search, shopping, display, and video advertising.
    • Provide insight to our marcom, product marketing, and brand teams about what creative is needed to attract and acquire more customers through search engines such as Google, Bing, and more.
    • Identify and develop the target audiences, keywords, and placements that are needed to accelerate our eCommerce and channel growth.
    • Ensure that our search engine activities are aligned with our broader digital marketing strategy, across social media, marketplaces, affiliates, and emails.
    • Own the associated budgets for each of our search engines and determine the right investments that are needed to grow the business.
    • Evaluate and advocate for better tools, so that our paid search team can conduct their campaigns at a high level.
    • Develop reporting and speak knowledgeably about key performance indicators (KPIs), such as impressions, clicks, clickthrough rate (CTR), conversions, and return on ad spend (ROAS).
    • Present and share search engine strategy and results with internal teams, such as executives, PR, Marcom, Product Marketing, and eCommerce.
    • Manage our relationships with Google Ads and Microsoft Ads teams.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • BA/BS in media, journalism, communications, English, business, or related field.
    • Passion for all channels of search engine marketing, including paid search, Shopping, YouTube, and programmatic display platforms (DSPs).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the company.
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
    • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Cloud products (AdCloud, Analytics, Audience Manager) and Google Ads.
    • Knowledge of 3rd party services to improve performance.
