    Job Description

    Apply your specialized knowledge of Western Digital’s proprietary post-sputter process cleaning and reliability testing, media disk testing instrument/technologies, and post-sputter process tools on media back-end process development.  Closely work with suppliers to develop new dipping lubricant & solvent and optimize process parameters for HDD media tribological performance improvement.  Explore/Improve disk lubricant thickness measurement methodologies (such as FTIR, ESCA, XRR and ellipsometry) to achieve better lubricant thickness measurement reliability and accuracy in one-tenth angstrom scale level.  Explore various cutting-edge technologies and instruments to improve the controllability of disk media lubricant process such as polymeric thin film coating, film UV/thermal annealing, equipment upgrading and product reliability evaluation, etc;  Develop & optimize back-end media process for next generation HDD products.  Back-end process related manufacturing issue troubleshooting and delivered multiple mature manufacturing process from R&D, pilot line (NPI) and to mass production in Asia.
