    Job Description

    Responsible for the company’s entire Flash Backend Supply Chain including innovating, optimizing, and enabling the end-to-end digital transformation of WD’s integrated supply chain to make it agile, responsive, and capital efficient so that WD can meet not only our customer requirements and expectations but also the company’s corporate financial goals for both the near-term and long-term.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Define the operational demand for the Flash business on an ongoing basis by interfacing with Sales, Marketing, and BU and using advanced analytics.
    • Maintain APS inputs and further develop our advanced planning engine to efficiently translate the operational demand signal into near-term executable build signals for WD’s backend factories.
    • Effectively communicate NAND, component, capacity, and build requirements to various organizations to ensure the company’s overall Flash business can be supported.
    • Lead S&OP for the Flash business and drive near-term execution as well as medium- to long-term strategic decisions.
    • Support annual long-range planning activities including NAND consumption roadmap, long-term material forecasting and budgeting, and backend capacity/capex forecasting and budgeting.
    • Trigger NAND supply, backend capex, and other non-NAND materials purchases to ensure ongoing ability to meet customer demand on-time.
    • In conjunction with BU, set appropriate build strategies and then define optimal inventory levels throughout the supply chain.
    • Drive New Product Qualifications and NPI builds to ensure ongoing demand/supply balance while maintaining healthy, but not excessive, inventory levels.
    • Periodic international travel, 1-2X/quarter, supporting WD’s Flash manufacturing sites.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Proven track record of leading a Supply Chain organization, including through significant transformation.
    • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering.
    • Advanced Data Analytics and Supply Chain Optimization experience.
    • Deep knowledge of advanced supply chain concepts including segmented supply chain and MEIO.
    • Ability to build, develop, lead, and motivate a large global organization and to establish trust across organizations as well as upward to Executive leadership to enable effective collaboration and influence across all levels of the company.
    • Ability to think tactically and strategically as appropriate to generate innovative cost-effective supply chain solutions that enable flexibility and responsiveness to sudden demand and/or supply changes.
    • A passion for process excellence, organizational efficiency, creative problem solving, and collaboration.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to get results, drive innovation, and influence others.
    • Advanced degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field preferred.
    • Semiconductor Technology, Wafer Fab, and Backend Manufacturing Experience preferred.

    • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
    • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
    • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
