  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Design and carryout DOEs to investigate media design variables impacting to hard drive interface, tribology issues, and head lifetime
    •  Examine laser and thermal impacts to head/media interface and media variable and design window
    • Follow through action items, work with various teams in media
    • Collaborate with HDD and Head team to improve overall media performance
    • Analyze data and preform reliability evaluation for HDD interface using best practices and methodologies
    • Data-mining and statistical analysis of media process, design, performance data, be sensitive to various designs and enablers changes 
    • Participate in significant technical investigations from problem statement to conclusions
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED

    • Graduate degree in material science, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, or equivalent required.
    • Ability to effectively manage projects and tasks to deliver deadlines and commitments. 
    • Experience in HDD is encouraged to apply

    PREFERRED

    • Experience in optical, thermal, mechanical, and magnetic aspects of HAMR technology
    • Capable of quickly learning new systems, tools, and methodologies
    • Knowledge in HDD tribology and media tribology
    • Working experience in relevant field
    • Familiarity with HDD process and testing
    • Strong knowledge in statistical analysis

     

    SKILL:

    • Possess data analytics and statistics skillset
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, solutions oriented with a positive, can-do attitude
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication
