Job Description

We’re looking for a talented and passionate engineer to join our team. You will be part of the team that is responsible for designing and building software applications (Windows and / or Linux) and data collection processes that analyze a hard disk drive’s servo-mechanical system. These applications run on Windows PCs, Linux PCs, and large multi-drive testers and it enables Product development teams to evaluate their designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain software applications, ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) and web based data visualization for machine-generated data sets. 
• Work with relational and non-relational databases to store and retrieve data from different software applications.
• Help to diagnose and resolve problems related to custom applications, operating system, device drivers, device firmware and test automation infrastructure
• Participate in code reviews and architectural technical discussions. 
• Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, application specifications and internal user guides
• Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively in a global, fast-paced, lean-agile team environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• BS or MS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA
• Comfortable working in Python, Ruby, Tcl, Perl, SQL / No SQL DBs, Matlab
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux systems
• Familiarity with Elastic Search, RESTful APIs is considered to be a plus
• Familiarity with revision control & defect tracking utilities (SVN, git, Jira, Bitbucket)
• Familiarity with wikis (Confluence)

SKILLS: 

• Strong C/C++ development skills and with competency using related compilers and development environments (MS Visual studio, Eclipse, gcc, gdb, cmake)
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
