    Job Description

    Tape is the foundational volume storage technology that is leading growth in cold storage.  Join a small but growing team where you can make an immediate impact on the robust tape technology roadmap.  Hands-on, active contributors will find a responsive environment where innovation is encouraged and team members are supportive.  The candidate will be responsible for defining and developing new tape head back end products and supporting them during their manufacturing life cycle.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -Support and improve production lapping and grinding processes.

    -Assess process capabilities, conceptualize, and develop processes to meet product requirements.

    -Interface with wafer development team to ensure backend technical requirements are clearly defined and met.

    -Define and run DOEs for process and product development.

    -Work with the overseas manufacturing engineering team to design processes which deliver high yield.

    -Conduct failure analysis and continuous improvement for production.

    -International travel (post-pandemic) will be required (10%)  

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in lapping, grinding, polishing, or CMP processing. 
    • Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in R, Minitab, JMP, SAS, Python or similar 
    • Experience with magnetic read/write head slider fabrication is a significant plus
