Smartronix, Inc., is an information technology and engineering solutions provider specializing in Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Health IT, Network Operations, and Mission-Focused Engineering. Smartronix is currently looking for a junior systems administrator to support a government client at NAWS China Lake.
Job Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and managing the Linux/Solaris operating systems and related tool sets supporting NAVAIR.
- Keeping servers "compliant" per NAVAIR and DISA policies to include backup and disaster recovery requirements, anti-virus protection, and implementing system security.
- Assist in assessment and remediation of system and environment vulnerabilities
- Maintaining the information on the Knowledge Base site.
- Building new infrastructure servers with the guidance of senior team members.
- Maintaining, tuning, and patching systems for optimum performance and security.
- Migrating or upgrading systems, where applicable. Participating in monthly routine maintenance tasks.
- Responding to system failures promptly to bring applications back online.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting methods.
- Tier 1 Support – Account management, basic troubleshooting, file system management
- Knowledge of backup plans and rotation cycles.
- DoD 8570 compliant (IAT Level 1). Must have or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of start date.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's and 1-2 years' experience; OR Associate's and 3 years' experience; OR 6 years' experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with SPARC Virtualization and Zones, Solaris 10-11, RHEL/CentOS 6-7.
