    The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of all related manufacturing equipment and processes required to manufacture a high quality product in a repeatable and cost effective manner. As such the successful candidate must have background and experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole manufacturing processes, programming and support of automated placement systems, and solder reflow processes as well as an understanding in electronic product introduction and development. Designs, implements and supports assembly processes for the SMT, Selective Solder and Final Fabrication areas for circuit card builds.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES: • Program, setup and debug SMT equipment. Equipment can include solder paste printer, pick and place, reflow solder oven, automated optical inspectoin (AOI), X-ray, selective wave solder and aqueous wash. • Create, update and manage documentations (i.e. work instructions, routings and other procedures for the use by production personnel). • Provides technical support on the production floor as required for critical process and product issues. • Execute engineering/manufacturing change orders. • Develops and maintains in process quality control systems to ensure product quality. • Drives and implements continuous improvement projects with production personnel. • Provides ongoing product and process improvements to meet quality, continuous improvement and production goals. • Creates PFMEA and product/process risk analysis of new products. • Develops and supports new manufacturing processes. • Coordinates prototype builds and process development. • Supports design for manufacturability. • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor of Science degree in electronics, mechanical or a manufacturing engineering discipline from an accredited institution. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in SMT/CCA manufacturing engineering processes. • Must have strong knowledge with surface mount and through-hole technologies. • Must be familiar with IPC/EIA J-STD-001C. • Must have a working knowledge of CAD software, Pick 'N Place software, and databases. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Must be a self-starter and a team player. • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) programming and support.
