    THE CHALLENGE

    GE Appliances is looking for a student to join the GE Appliances Digital UX team as a Co-Op in a Junior Designer role. The ideal candidate will work with cross-functional teams to determine requirements and design digital assets for promotions that run on our private ecommerce stores, as well as our public parts and accessories store. This designer may also be called upon to develop creative assets for other internal ad-hoc projects as needed.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Create visual design mockups for ecommerce promotions
    • Work with users and stakeholders to share insights about user and business needs, technical constraints
    • Synthesize stakeholder and user feedback to determine how a design should be evolved and refined to better meet user, customer and business needs
    • Participate in the business discussions relative to the future direction of design and user experience
    • Work with internal teams to enhance design and usability of existing internal applications and sites
    • Report on project status, issues, and risks. Identify and mitigate UX risks on projects

  • Qualifications
    • Students only. Must be a current full-time student enrolled in a bachelors or advance degree program; preference to those pursuing degrees related to graphic and digital design, user experience design, or similar disciplines
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Excellent written communication skills: grammar, sentence structure, and spelling
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Applications like Photoshop, Illustrator and XD
    • Positive attitude with proven ability to work well with teams
    • Dependable with strong pattern of attendance
    • Must be willing to work at least 20 hrs./week; ability to work flexible hours ranging from 20-40/week is ideal
    • Coop duration of 1 year
