SENIOR DATA ENGINEER- REMOTE, ANYWHERE IN US
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Architect, build, test, and deploy distributed, scalable, Machine Learning model pipelines for batch, micro-batch, and streaming workloads from datasets and sources in Kantar data stores
Design and development of the data flows and data stores into and within pipelines to support machine learning and operational research modelling
Defining clean APIs, establishing SLAs, collaborating on the components/engineered features of models of other platforms so they can better consumer our outputs
Implement best practices in data engineering and software engineering, test automation, and CI/CD automation for defining the life-cycle of data
Maintain data governance (PII, access, audit, compliance, control) in accordance with Kantar policies and industry best practice
Collaborate with consumers and producers of data to ensure end-to-end data quality and value.
Mentor staff in data management best practices
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Established, proven experience in data and pipeline engineering in enterprise environments
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or equivalent work experience
Minimum six years of production programming experience in at-scale data processing
Extensive work experience with SQL and Relational DBMS, Spark, and Python
Able to understand data science and data engineering concepts and implement as modular, functional components ready for production deployment
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD
Experience with modern software practices, Agile, and related tools (git, Jira, Confluence)Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, continuous integration and development, and operations.
Experience with Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
Proven experience diagnosing and resolving problems
Required to understand both the technical and business process flow for key strategic systems and initiatives.
Good verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
PREFERRED
Master's degree or higher in a relevant quantitative subject
Familiarity with Databricks
Familiarity with distributed streaming computation platforms
