KANTAR'S RETAIL CONSULTING TEAM is seeking a detail-oriented Research Operations Manager to project-manage every aspect of its market-leading ShopperScape® research studies. Reporting to the Director, Research, this position is responsible for executing day to day project related tasks, managing research schedules, and validating project deliverables for syndicated shopper survey assets. The Manager of Shopper Research Operations will support product and Shopper domain commercial strategies as well as the team that creates over 100 annual pieces of thought leadership for over 100 licensed clients spanning the CPG, retailer, agency, and financial sectors. This role is the primary liaison with operations, data processing, and third-party sample suppliers. The position works as part of the Shopper Insights team focused on providing support of Kantar's Syndicated ShopperScape® research studies.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead all operations and data activities for the ShopperScape research program.
    • Manage project timelines, quality, and expenses
    • Monitor project process including costs vs. budget, tracking any overages and impact on yearly budget
    • Collaborate with Research Manager to create surveys and banner/tab specs
    • Coordinate upload and QA of data into both dashboards and database
    • Manage sample process
    • Communicate with vendors and stakeholders to set expectations for design, fieldwork and delivery to meet final data availability dates for clients
    • Communicate project specifications to reflect stakeholder requests throughout project design and process
    • Lead project launch, status, and problem-solving calls with vendors and internal teams
    • Communicate project status to internal team regularly, proactively identifying any threats to project timeline or budget.Summarize causes, potential options and ways to avoid in future studies.
    • Ensure data delivered to clients meets high expectations for quality and usability
    • Completes all necessary project forms
    • Ensure that goals and required timing of research are met, minimizing scope creep
    • Ensure all relevant project materials are available to team members and archived
    • Evaluate and provide input on potential process improvements and ways of working

    SUCCESS PROFILE

    The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience managing market research projects and operations with the following capabilities:

    • Familiar with GDPR and PII protocols
    • Detail-oriented with strong quantitative skills and analytical abilities
    • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Teams, and Outlook
    • Experience working in databases, both to run tables, and to QA data that has been uploaded
    • Logical thought process and ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing
    • Familiarity with data analysis, data reporting, dashboard, and crosstab software such as mTab, Q, Chrunch IO, Askia Info Explorer, Displayr, or similar
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively
    • Well organized with ability to foresee project requirements
    • Able to build collaborative working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders including analysts, product managers, operations, data processing, etc.
