    About the division

    MONITOR is our subscription-based consumer insights, foresights and strategy platform. We track key marketplace dynamics and critical shifts in consumer attitudes and values that are reshaping the operating environment for businesses and brands. The MONITOR product team uses consumer survey data, cultural trends, qualitative insights, and foresight frameworks to create content ranging from infographics and newsletters to comprehensive reports and presentations of our thought leadership. MONITOR tools and outputs provide actionable intelligence to strengthen brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and planning. We have four core products: U.S. MONITOR, Global MONITOR, Canada MONITOR, and Sports MONITOR.

    About the Job

    A core member of a team of insights professionals responsible for addressing our client’s consumer, marketplace, and business challenges, using Kantar’s MONITOR syndicated research as the backbone of our support and consulting guidance. Senior Consultants lead and oversee MONITOR-focused consulting projects, assist senior leaders in cultivating new business opportunities, and supervise entry-level team members.

    OVERVIEW OF ROLE

    The most successful Senior Consultants in our business are strategic storytellers, see the big picture, deliver insightful client recommendations, and manage the day-to-day with unwavering attention to detail.

    As a Senior Consultant, you will assist leaders in the MONITOR business in identifying and understanding client needs, developing and presenting compelling proposals, and managing and guiding project teams to deliver high-impact insights projects.

    The role requires the ability to understand trends-social, technological, economic and consumer-and recognize the patterns and insights that others miss, turning them into actionable implications for our clients. We are looking for someone with a strong mix of analytical rigor and creative thinking -- someone who can take consumer research and both internal and external data and bring them life and explore with our clients what they mean.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with senior leaders in the design and delivery of client projects, from proposal to project deliverables and final recommendations

    • Lead and work on project teams in the delivery of custom consulting engagements, participating in client management and the development of high-qualitydeliverables and recommendations to our clients

    • Take responsibility for day-to-day project activities including team management, financial accountability and project management

    • Develop and present future-facing insights, implications and recommendations

    • Support the team in the generation of new business, including the uncovering and understanding of client needs, proposal development, and new business presentations

    • Distill quantitative and qualitative insights and data into strategic implications (e.g., for corporate strategy, category / product strategy, pipeline innovation, marketing communications, brand strategy / positioning, segment profiles, target identification, etc.)

    • Contribute to our proprietary knowledge base by identifying emerging marketplace shifts and their application to our clients' business issues

    • Assist in planning, organizing and executing client workshops

    • Ability to think strategically and work in project teams to support the development of insights, implications and recommendations for our clients

    • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills-attention to detail is a must

    • Strong written and oral communication skills with a creative approach to story-telling and visual presentation of information

    • Ability to develop deep relationships with both colleagues and clients at all levels of an organization

    • Ability to tell stories with data: Strong analytic skills, with an ability to synthesize and translate data (soft and hard) from primary research and other sources into a cohesive and compelling storyline

    • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, interests and resources

    • Collaborative and possessing a team-first orientation; willing to alternate between teaching and learning roles

    • Tolerance for fast-paced environments

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • BS/BA degree, preferably in the social sciences or related disciplines

    • 4+ years of experience in market research or related field

    • Experience leading multi-phase projects which leverage multiple methodologies and knowledge sources, including applying trends information, and integrating primary research

    • Experience translating project approaches/scopes into actionable project plans including timelines, key tasks, etc.

    • Solid knowledge of consumers, consumer trends, and macro (e.g., technological, economic, regulatory, social drivers) trends

    • A familiarity and certain level of comfort with analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, as well as other forms of more observational insight

    The salary range for this role in Illinois is $ 84,500.00 - $140,900 . Your final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
