    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    This is a dynamic, client-facing role with significant growth potential.

    • The Senior Consultant will lead the commercial planning and execution of a key service offering for our clients, working in collaboration with a range of analysts, subject matter experts, and consultants on delivery.
    • The Senior Consultant will architect and co-deliver research solutions focused on the $25 trillion global retail industry, supporting the strategic initiatives of global CPG/FMCG companies.
    • This individual will help clients explore planning questions and business challenges, scope and codify ‘applied research’ solutions, and apply data-driven insights to solve a variety of strategic planning needs.
    • Experience identifying relevant data and insights to curate and draw on from syndicated sources, is key to success. This role will primarily focus on mining existing content from KRiQ.com, the Retail Group’s global platform housing all macroeconomic data, retail industry analysis, shopper and category data and insights, special research reports, and more.

    Candidates for this role should have experience in applying data and insights to answer business planning questions; product management (both strategy formation and execution); project management; and cross-functional or matrixed team management. Experience in the rapidly evolving omnichannel retail sector will expedite success, as will an ability to analyze client queries and client satisfaction data to inform our product and services innovation roadmap. Ideal candidates will be adept at applying data and insights to improve short- and long-term business planning.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and innovate our offer; set growth goals; inform annual plan objectives.
    • Define and refine our long-term and annual plans; analyze solution mix; optimize delivery methods to enhance profitability; craft the marketing toolkit (case studies, success stories, one-pagers, etc.).
    • Plan and manage projects and retainer relationships, coordinating resources and delivery.
    • Curate, mine, and apply syndicated data and insights to respond to client queries and business planning questions.
    • Capture KPIs and analyze client feedback to measure business health and improve performance - e.g., pricing, resourcing, margin/profitability, client impact, client satisfaction, etc.

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES & ROLE DETAILS:

    • Own marketing, managing, and delivery of strategic advisory solutions.
    • Serve as offering evangelist internally and externally to identify needs, innovate, and refine our solutions.
    • Support product positioning, messaging, and overall go-to-market execution - including creating compelling sales enablement tools.
    • Analyze client queries and engagement types to inform offer innovation as well as tactics the direct sales team will use to introduce, sell, and upsell new offers.
    • Apply feedback from client directors to craft engaging communications and marketing campaigns - including working with creative and marketing teams to improve messaging and activate campaigns.
    • Build partnerships with an array of research teams in N. Am. and with Kantar’s research groups globally.

    CAPABILITIES:

    • 4-5+ years’ experience in applying research and data-driven insights to solve client needs -- leading consulting engagements, developing advisory relationships, or managing retainers.
    • Expert communication skills, especially working across functions and teams -- using a variety of modes and media, and bridging multiple functional teams (e.g., research, marketing & sales, finance, more).
    • Abundant curiosity - ideally to explore and uncover unmet client needs, learn our subject matter, and share and teach others.
    • Customer/client focused -- developing interactive and productive client relationships, building trusted advisor relationships, deriving solutions proactively - before clients have asked for help, etc.
    • Proficiency in time management - self-directed, interacting ad hoc across teams, remote and hybrid work spaces, multi-deadline task management.
    • Growth mindset - seeking improvements, new ways to deliver work, develop solutions, delight clients.
    • Performance measurement - what to track, how to apply learnings. Preference to work in an environment in which financial performance is tracked and measured.
    • Experience in or passion for retail, manufacturing, fast-moving consumer products, direct-to-consumer business models, healthcare, regulatory changes, technology evolution, more - tracking industry dynamics helps anticipate the challenges our clients face today and in the future.

    The salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $72,600 - $121,000.
