H&L Partners is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team in our Oakland office. The position will be responsible for supporting the Director of Accounting and supervising the Accounts Payable Clerk. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has demonstrated the ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable Clerk to fulfill department objectives
• Post all invoices and expense reports, ensuring they are approved
• Manage the receipt and posting of corporate credit card expenses
• Accurately post client-billable costs and agency expenses to proper accounts
• Upload scanned invoices and expense reports to an online repository
• Process weekly check runs based on established payment terms
• Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of check-run payments
• Respond to vendor payment inquiries and research discrepancies
• Maintain vendor records database, classifying vendors appropriately
• Enroll vendors for electronic payments whenever possible
• Assist with processing 1099 forms
• Work on other projects as assigned

• 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Understanding of GAAP and accounting conceptual framework
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize urgent and important work
• Excellent organizational and communication skills. Professional demeanor is a must.
• Must be motivated, organized, dependable, and detail oriented
• Able to learn quickly, follow processes and procedures, and work independently
• Computer savvy. Proficient with MS Office. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat preferred.
