Associate, Public Relations Area of Interest: Corporate Location: NY - New York Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate, Public Relations will be responsible for assisting the Chanel Public Relations team with clip reports, press outreach, mailings and press events, as well as daily administrative tasks to support the department. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in coordinating US press requests for all national, regional and online publications Inventory management: oversight of sample send outs, returns and shipping (WorldNet, FedEx, UPS) Research and analyze new media (online, print and influencers) for PR department Provide editorial credit requests Ordering and organizing a full inventory of key print publications Oversight of the supply order (Staples, Uline) Responsible for tabbing, scanning and distributing clippings Coordinate results for special project clippings (print, online and social media) Showroom maintenance and presentation including merchandising and organizing Coordinate sample merchandise loans and setup with visual department for press open door Maintain and regularly update department press contacts (Fashion GPS) Handle administrative projects including scheduling, meeting coordination, and other special projects as needed POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and experience in day-to-day public relations tasks such as media services (Cision, DMR), Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Lotus Notes, and Fashion GPS High level of organization Internet and social media savvy Microsoft Office Proficiency Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to handle multiple priorities from multiple sources while being flexible to changing priorities and demands Quick, accurate and consistent decision making skills Must be able to travel domestically and internationally Must have the ability to stay calm under pressure and think on your feet Basic knowledge and awareness of French helpful but not required Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree Minimum Years of Experience : 1 -2 years public relations experience; luxury market a plus Special Requirements of the Position: Knowledge and experience in the fashion industry a plus Chanel, Inc. and its U.S. affiliates is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
