    Communications and Public Information Intern City of Dublin, Ohio - Dublin, OH $11.80 - $14.75 an hour - Full-time, Internship Description Under the supervision of the Public Affairs Officer, the Communications & Public Information Intern functions in a communications support role in the implementation, development, and coordination of marketing and public relations policies, procedures and activities. Communications & Public Information Interns are expected to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week during the school year. Communications & Public Information Interns may be permitted to work a full-time schedule during summer, winter, and spring breaks subject to the approved budget. THIS POSITION IS FOR FALL 2018 TO BEGIN IN MID-SEPT Examples of Duties Assist with the development and implementation of internal/external communications, engagement, outreach and recognition events; Conduct social media research, digital media development, and media tracking; Develop creative concepts and communication plans for special projects; Create strategic content and accurate and timely key messaging for all platforms; Write news releases, website copy, and social media content; and, Create public awareness campaigns for City services and initiatives. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing an undergraduate (minimum Junior standing) or graduate degree program with an emphasis in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related area of study. Prior internship/volunteer experience in the fields of Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other related field preferred. Possession of a valid driver's license. Ideal candidates are assertive, comfortable with multi-tasking, and have the ability to prioritize their responsibilities and manage deadlines with minimal supervision. Supplemental Information: Undergraduate junior interns are eligible to receive $11.80 per hour, and undergraduate senior interns are eligible to receive $12.80 per hour. First year graduate student interns are eligible to receive $13.50 per hour. Second year graduate student interns are eligible to receive $14.75 per hour. All positions within this job classification have been designated as Casual in nature and all employees serving in such positions are considered to be Casual Employees. Casual employees serve strictly at the pleasure of the City and their employment may be terminated at any time for any reason, with or without cause.
