Job Description
Join our dynamic Audience Measurement FP&A team, playing a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of IT & Data Solutions (ITDS). As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will delve deep into financial data, contributing to the forecasting, planning, and reporting processes for a key part of Nielsen’s business, responsible for roughly $600m in spend. Your ability to translate raw financial data into meaningful insights will be essential in driving informed decision-making within the ITDS team. You will not only analyze the numbers, but also understand the underlying business context to help identify trends and opportunities while managing risk.
What You'll Do
* Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support forecasting and planning processes, including people costs, non-people costs, and capital expenditures.
* Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and trend identification.
* Conduct thorough investigations into financial discrepancies, providing clear explanations and supporting documentation to ensure data accuracy.
* Generate KPI reports that highlight key performance indicators and relate those indicators to the business operations.
Actionable Insight Generation:
Financial Support & Process Improvement:
Provide financial support to the ITDS team, assisting with budget management, cost control, and financial inquiries.
Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements within the FP&A function, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency.
Assist in the development and maintenance of financial tools and systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Assist in the preparation of investment analysis, and ROI calculations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with key stakeholders in IT, Operations, Commercial, Accounting, and HR to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring alignment across departments.
Participate in cross functional meetings, and present financial information to both a financial and non financial audience
Qualifications
4+ years of progressive FP&A experience.
Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and data manipulation.
Familiarity with financial reporting systems and ERP systems.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
Experience with SAP (S/4 Hana), Google Suite, AI tools and SAC is a plus.
