    Patient Advocacy Communications Intern Genomic Health 21 reviews - Redwood City, CA 94063 Internship OVERVIEW The Advocacy department is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with the patient advocacy and patient community. The insights and learnings shared through the advocacy community help drive internal strategies and decisions to help Genomic Health meet the needs of the patient community. The Patient Advocacy intern will be directly responsible for supporting both Advocacy and Communications activities to improve the impact of the department's work through social media, online and advocacy channels to further educate the patient community about genomic testing and its role in cancer care. RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare and coordinate patient advocacy partnerships via online and in-person channels in the breast, colon, and prostate communities * Identify educational opportunities within the patient and advocacy community around genomic testing, including its impact on patient outcomes and current standards of care * Identify key channels and strategies to support the broad expansion of Genomic Health's online patient education programs, including the Coach platforms, MyBreastCancerTreatment, and MyProstateCancerTreatment * Work with internal stakeholders to educate GHI teams about patient and advocate resources relevant to their business objectives * Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    • Focus in either Public Relations/Communications or Science-related fields * Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office systems * Familiarity with social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, etc. * Strong communicator with the ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers * Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines * Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner * Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality * Ability to work as part of a team DESIRED * Previous experience in the communications, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries * Critical thinking skills Advertisement: The Patient Advocacy intern will be directly responsible for supporting both Advocacy and Communications activities to improve the impact of the departments work through social media, online and advocacy channels to further educate the patient community about genomic testing and its role in cancer care. 3 hours ago
