    The Billing Support Specialist is responsible for various auditing and clerical tasks to ensure both billing accuracy and compliance.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Verify, correct, and enter client group and individual attendance into the Electronic Health Records system.
    • Audit client data to ensure attendance logs and clinical information are up to date and accurate.
    • Maintain regular communication with Billing Manager and Clinical Staff regarding client data and other information learned about client.
    • Electronically submit insurance claims to clearinghouse or individual insurance companies.
    • Complete daily insurance verifications for commercial insurance payers.
    • Review daily the clinical time entry module and correct any errors.
    • Review weekly clinical assessments for errors and ensure accurate documentation to initiate billing.
    • Confirm client discharges daily and update client module in the electronic medical record system.
    • Compare counselor caseload between systems to ensure accuracy for client discharges to prepare for first of the month funding updates.
    • Responsible to provide quality assurance for billing data.
    • Ensure that program administrative operations are conducted in compliance with all pertinent local, state, and federal laws as well as all other mandated requirements.

    EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION 

    Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

     Computer literacy required.

     Previous experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system or computer billing system strongly preferred.

    Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to achieve outcomes and meet billing deadlines.

    Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and present a positive professional image.

    Must have analytical, data entry, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

    Must have a working knowledge of issues regarding confidentiality.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    This is a full-time, benefits eligible position, working Monday through Friday with the possibility of 2 days working remotely and 3 days in-office.  Hourly wage of $17-$19/hour.
