    PETROL, a leading full-service advertising agency specializing in progressive marketing for some of the biggest brands in tech, sports, and video gaming—among many more—is seeking a full-time Media Planner. With dedicated departments for print services, motion graphics, AV, social media, interactive/digital, as well as media planning & buying, we regularly develop fully integrated global marketing campaigns for some major brands across genres.

    We are looking for a new member of our in-house media team. In this position, you would be responsible for the development and implementation for both national and local media campaigns.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Media Planning (approximately 50% of duties)

    • Work closely with media team members (Directors, Supervisor, Sr. Planners, Analyst)
    • Touch on all aspects of digital and traditional media campaigns from setup to execution to post campaign.
    • Assist in comprehensive media strategy development to meet clients marketing objectives.
    • Assemble media consideration set and make recommendations on how to best allocate agency advertising budgets; utilizing media research tools, internal resources and industry/market knowledge.
    • Develop and RFP's for media publishers; gather and analyze proposals to determine media selections, negotiate rates & positioning as required.
    • Develop final media plan recommendation and assist the Account team in presenting the recommendation to the client.
    • Provide supporting research for recommended media strategies and plans.
    • Oversee and monitor ongoing campaign performance, ensuring campaigns are executed properly and according to client expectations.
    • Assist with account reconciliation

     

    Data Reporting (approximately 50% of duties)

    • Compile and analyze performance reports for online media campaigns on a regular basis.
    • Review and communicate campaign performance regularly, helping to issue written and graphic reports and verbal updates to client and team.
    • Assist with tagging and  optimization of multiple campaigns through in-depth retrieval, evaluation and analysis of client results, making strategic recommendations for improvements.
    • Collaborate with clients and internal team to understand client objectives and measurements for success.
    • Work towards improving the level of sophistication, accuracy, validity and creativity of clients' digital measurement strategies.
    • Read graphs and charts, along with the ability to analyze large sheets of data.
    • Identify trends in data and provide insights for the planning team.
    • Apply tools for statistical analysis and modeling.
    • Use standard office tools (spreadsheets and presentation software) as well as advanced reporting and visualization software (Datorama) to create clear and compelling graphs and data maps.
    • Extract and move data as needed among ad servers, online analytics tools, and self-developed databases, including the use of automated API calls.
    • Understand measurement and tracking methods to achieve campaign KPIs including pixel implementation or an understanding of, across Google suite and services.
    • Understand performance metrics for advertising and landing pages and how they relate to campaign and client objectives.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Should have both traditional and digital planning experience
    • Should have agency experience with 2-3 years of media planning/buying experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher plus Advance computer knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Fully knowledgeable with third party ad services including GCM and Google Analytics
    • Working knowledge of Video Game space and marketing is a plus
    • Problem solver with the ability to develop creative solutions
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment and handle ad hoc requests
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Sense of urgency in responding promptly to client and internal requests.
    • Strong interest in learning about digital media and advancing knowledge in data analysis.

    All final candidates must complete and pass a background check, including a Motor Vehicles Report.
