    Position Description 2018 Internship Program - Research Analyst Location NC - Charlotte Office Functional Area HR Employment Status Intern The Research Analyst internship is located in our Charlotte, NC office. Dates: June 4th - August 10th, 2018 (40 hours/week for 10 weeks) Position Overview: Press Ganey - a mission driven healthcare data and services company - is looking for an energetic, creative and curious intern for our Research and Analytics team this summer. Our patient experience advisors are uniquely trained and skilled to identify areas of opportunity and help clients implement targeted improvement plans. Our consultants, whose health care experience is a true differentiator, work in partnership with organizations to identify and implement best practices across their operations. Simply put, we are vested in our clients success, and dedicated to helping them understand and improve every dimension of the patient experience. Duties & Responsibilities may include: * Prepare data to be used for our national comparative, utilizing unit coding and working with large datasets. * Learn data quality assurance techniques to help validate datasets and comparative data. * Assist in custom research analyses using large Press Ganey datasets. Qualifications: * Majors or Masters programs in data science, sociology, math, statistics, computer science, etc. * Working knowledge of SQL and/or other database languages (ie: Python, etc) * Strong conceptual and analytical skills * Preferred: project or experience with research (faculty-guided) * Preferred: project or experience with data manipulation Internship Program Components: * Real-time projects and initiatives that contribute to your departments performance * Structured orientation and overall program plan * Feedback and career development opportunities * Interactions with other leaders in the organization * Networking opportunities with our current and former interns now in permanent roles within the organization * Exposure to the Press Ganey organization as whole, outside of your particular department * Competitive compensation Internship Eligibility: * Graduate Students: * must have completed at least one year of a graduate program * Undergraduate Students: * must be a junior for the 2017-2018 academic year (anticipated graduation date of Spring 2019) in an undergraduate degree program at a four-year college or university * Overall GPA of 3.0+ * Have the ability to work in the United States with no restrictions * Arrange own local housing for the length of the program * Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g. student organizations, athletics, community organizations, etc.) All positions at Press Ganey require an applicant who has accepted an offer to undergo a background check.
