    Job Description

    Streetsense is looking for a media-savvy, creative and enthusiastic real estate development-focused public relations strategist to join our team in Bethesda, Md. The Account Manager, PR will manage a portfolio of clients focused primarily in the real estate development and multifamily housing sectors but may also touch accounts focused on hospitality and travel and tourism.

    The role will serve as the day-to-day strategic lead for multiple PR accounts and be responsible for ensuring that key deliverables are client-ready and on deadline. They must be able to develop and execute a creative earned media strategy and be able to manage relationships with key press in local markets, as well as trade publications and national outlets. They will need to be comfortable managing up and down but willing to step in and get the job done when needed. Additionally, the Account Manager will be expected to contribute to proposal research and development, new business pitches, and identify opportunities to expand and enhance client relationships.

    The right candidate must have experience in the real estate development space, either in an agency or in-house capacity.

    KEY TASKS + RESPONSIBILITIES Account Management

    • Must be able to develop and articulate an effective PR strategy that achieves the goals of clients in the real estate development sector
    • Serves as quality control on all PR deliverables – either developed in-house or with outside teams – to ensure they are on-strategy, on-message, and up-to-par with client expectations
    • Serves as main client point of contact for all PR initiatives
    • Works with broader marketing team to align PR efforts with social and digital tactics

    Public Relations

    • Serves as the lead media relations strategist for clients and ensures PR tactics are aligned with overall client business objectives
    • Employs creative approaches to developing pitch angles and timely hooks and understands how those translate across media markets including trade, consumer, and digital/blog platforms
    • Must have positive working relationships with key real estate and business publications — including those in the DC area — as well as national outlets, and broadcast media.
    • Must be able to demonstrate success at pitching and placing articles that create positive buzz for clients
    • Primary writer of client talking points, messaging, reporter/publication backgrounders, op-eds and contributed pieces, and has experience placing contributed content in leading publications
    • Helps develop strategy and coordinates media for events, including grand openings, launches, and media previews
    • Oversees, trains and nurtures junior staff and/or outside consultants
    • Stays up to date on industry trends and news, and actively looks for opportunities to leverage that knowledge to advance PR objectives
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in PR or a related field
    • 3-5 years of real estate PR experience
    • PR agency or related client-facing experience a must
    • Strong media contacts in DC is a must, other major markets (NYC/Philadelphia) is a plus
    • Must be willing to pitch media on regular basis and oversee remote teams
    • Superior writing (press releases, media advisories, etc.), editing, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Highly responsive and service-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Experience in manager-level positions and/or demonstrated superior performance as an account executive/supervisor
    • Familiarity with media monitoring platforms
