Freenters is looking for web development intern for the Winter Quarter/Spring Semester to join our team to help develop and implement web-based solutions on our MEAN application (MySQL, Express, Angular, Node).

This will be a great experience for students seeking not only careers in web development as you will be getting real-life applicable development experience and a chance to challenge yourself on fun projects, but also careers in entrepreneurship, as the intern will be able to experience the daily operations of a startup as an integral part of the team.

The workload is approximately roughly 10 hours a week and the work is remote (although we might occasionally invite you over for company events if you are in our area).

Learning Objectives:

You will have the opportunity to work on and build experience in both front and back-end development. You will build experience in working on a MEAN stack application/website. You will experience how startups operate by becoming an integral part of a growing startup.

Responsibilities:

• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code

• Work on both front and back-end development

• Work closely with the Chief Product Officer to develop useful consumer-facing applications

• Work with and communicate with other teams/departments (e.g. marketing) to build applications they request

• Proficiency in at least some of web development frameworks and tools we use (Javascript, AngularJS, NodeJS, ExpressJS)

• Proficiency in MYSQL

• Willingness to learn

• Ability to dedicate 10 hours/week throughout the rest of the academic year

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to foster creativity and be responsive to innovative ideas

• Ability to work under strict deadlines
