    Nutrition PR Internship Weber Shandwick Chicago is currently seeking

    applications for their full-time Nutrition/Consumer Internship program. Our mission is tied to one goal -winning for our clients. We develop programs designed to move people faster to the highest form of loyalty - advocacy - by mobilizing advocates for our clients early on in the communications process. Put your nutrition knowledge to use in the PR field! The Internship at Weber Shandwick is intended to provide a true learning experience to combine nutrition and communications expertise. Interns assist our public relations practitioners and nutrition experts with day to day duties including research, writing copy for news releases and feature stories, coordinating PR programs, assisting in the organization and preparation of special client events, compiling media lists, pitching client stories and participation in creative sessions. The duration of the internship is 16 weeks, in-person, 40 hours per week and is paid at $12/hour. Responsibilities: Monitor and interpret scientific research Assist with nutrition spokesperson requests Contact media to pitch stories to nutrition/health editors Develop strategic media lists Assist in handling logistics of media events Conduct research literature reviews utilizing various resources Track media hits and maintain trackers Attend weekly intern and team meetings Participate in nutrition related brainstorms, specific to food clients Provide regular updates to supervisors on projects Essential Skills: Project Management: Ability to handle a fast paced, often demanding environment, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks Communication Skills: Proficiency in writing and editing Thinking Skills: Ability to think creatively Social Media Skills: Working knowledge of online/digital media platforms (Facebook, Twitter etc.) Technical and Functional Expertise: Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook Interpersonal Skills: Capability to adapt to and work in a team Nutrition Skills: Content expertise including research experience using PubMed, Google Scholar; familiarity with recipe/nutrient analysis programs Students should be enrolled in, or have completed nutrition degree program; Masters candidates, RD eligible or new RDs also welcome Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
