    What you will do:

    Johnson Controls invites you to apply for aninternshipat the JCI Advanced Development and Engineering Center ( JADEC ) located inNew Freedom, PA.This internshipis designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives as part of the Digitalization and Service Enablement (DSE) team within the Chiller Engineering Organization. The Digital Engineering role supports creating, capturing , and connecting data using digital tools, and it enables engineers to explore possibilities and develop innovative solutions. The DSE team has a goal to help Johnson Controls do more with the existing data available on chiller equipment to provide value to both our customers and our internal teams.

    How you will do it:

    • Validate and leverage data available from YORK Chiller Access Manager to be utilized within automated reporting, visualization, and marketing promotions.

    • Develop a proposal and proof of concept for a method to digitalize content in technical literature so that it is more easily consumed /mined by web applications and generative AI tools. Plan should include recommendations on how technical information should be kept up to date in the future.

    • Build out a comprehensive matrix of chiller maintenance requirements and identify what tasks must be completed in-person, what can be completed remotely, which services and parts can be recommended based on operating conditions , etc.

    • Work closely with the Connected Equipment Portal (CEP) team to develop an interface or set of adjustable visuals which are focused toward bringing value to product engineers .

    • These are examples of actual ongoing work, and final project assignment (s) will be finalized based on candidate interest and qualifications .

    What we look for:

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time undergrad student at an accredited U.S. college or university.

    • Pursuing a degree in a STEM field with a particular interest in data science, intelligence, analysis and/or architecture.

    • Minimum of 2 years complete toward a Bachelor of Science degree.

    • Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications, Teams, and various data analysis tools.

    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently with s trong problem-solving skills.

    • Good communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts verbally and in writing, with an interest in learning how to effectively communicate to all levels of a large organization.

    • Organizational skills utilizing web-based collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams with shared files and folders.

    • Familiarity with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.

    • Familiarity with data architecture in platforms such as Snowflake Data Cloud.
