    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    This role will be part of our Government Relations team. This internship will ideally be a hybrid of in-person and virtual, but virtual-only candidates are welcome to apply. It is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. As part of your internship, you will gain experience in the following areas below:

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT:

    • Assist with research of government regulations, focused on the US but including international markets (Latin American and Europe) as well. This work will include assisting the team administering the JCI employee funded Political Action Committee.
    • Legislative tracking and research.
    • Support sustainability working groups that are formulating key areas of company sustainability strategy.
    • Candidates should have an interest in sustainability and international business. Ideal majors are: international business, business, public policy/political science.
    • Will work with team virtually using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and may also work in a hybrid office environment in downtown DC.
    • Traits: detail oriented, organized, collaborates effectively in a team, problem solver, and can work independently.

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year undergraduate bachelors program pursuing a degree in international business, business, public policy/political science (graduating no sooner than Dec 2022).
    • Available to work 20 hours/week beginning Spring 2022
    • A self-initiator with analytical and interpersonal skills
    • A highly motivated individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities and able to change directions quickly if needed.
    • An effective communicator to all levels of the organization
    • Able to work independently and lead projects to completion
    • Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
