    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. This position will be for the spring semester with the possibility of full-time employment upon graduation. Under the guidance of a full-time JCI employee, the intern will be expected to assist with the day to day of assisting the service department from inspections to scheduled service work in the district. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT:

    • Assist the admin team with their tasks while getting and understanding of the business, the customers and equipment we service.

    • Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling, letters, working spreadsheets, and searching our databases to understand contracting.

    • Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.

    • Become familiar with fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems and services.

    • Be able to become self-sufficient by learning the processes and why they are important.

    • Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety

    • Possibility to go out into the field to get hands on experience of the systems we service.

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college, technical school, or university

    • Pursuing a degree in Fire Technology or other technical degree

    • Currently a sophomore or higher status

    • Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and the appropriate applications, including Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint

    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

    • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team

    • Energetic and driven attitude - you do what it takes to get the task completed

    • Good organizational and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to pass a background and drug screening

    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

    • Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding he/she from receiving the vaccine.
