    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    The intern will be assigned to the Security Operations team and will shadow the SOC analysts. The analysts will spend the first couple of weeks going through the different SOC monitoring tasks, tools, and processes with the intern. After the tool/assignment overview, the analysts will train the intern on an entry-level monitoring task and provide oversight of the intern's work while on those tasks. The intern will join the weekly team meetings to gain exposure to the SOC operations across globe. The intern will also shadow the analysts as they work through their daily Incident Response training scenario, providing insight into more advanced response activities performed by the team. The SOC Manager will conduct weekly 1-on-1 meetings with the intern to answer questions and gain feedback on the program.

    This position is located in Milwaukee, WI. It is a long-term internship beginning February 2022. Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during the summer break.

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT:

    • Malware analysis
    • Host forensics
    • Network monitoring
    • Large scale log analytics
    • Threat intelligence generation and processing
    • Create technically detailed reports based on intrusions and events
    • Ability to document and explain technical details in a concise, understandable manner
    • Aid in computer incident investigations
    • Coordinate with other teams to remediate detected incidents
    • Analyze and evaluate anomalous network and system activity
    • Support Vulnerability Scanning Assessments by identifying vulnerabilities or anomalies, providing mitigation recommendations, and associated reports

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited university or college pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity or Computer Forensics.
    • Graduating no sooner than Dec 2022 with the ability to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.
    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
    • Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills required
    • Prior co-op or internship experience
