    What you will do

    Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a mechanical engineering internship located at our Ducted Systems facility in Wichita , KS . This internship is designed to provide you with positive work/training experience and challenging objectives . Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below. You will HVAC system analysis support on residential ducted system s product s, Residential Packaged Products , and gas fired furnaces. The position supports product development, design drafting, and laboratory testing . T he individual will assist engineering staff in the preparation of certification documents and submittals for Authorities having jurisdiction.

    How you will do it:

    • Provide analysis support for AHRI and DOE calculations.
    • Provide hands on support for prototype creation.
    • Provide design specification support to laboratory validation testing.

    Duration: This will be a full-time summer 202 4 internship. Local students may have the potential to continue working on projects on a part-time basis during the school year.

    What we look for :

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
    • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering program.
    • Sophomore or Junior level standing
    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
    • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software.
    • Prior HVAC experience is a plus.
    • FEA (ANSYS) or other structural analysis is a plus.
    • CFD (ANSYS) or other computational fluid dynamic analysis is a plus.
    • Pro-E or other design experience is a plus.
    • Must be local to Wichita, KS, or commutable distance.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
    • Pursuing a degree inMechanical Engineering
    • An effective communicator to all levels of the organization
    • Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
