    The Johnson Controls Early Career COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (#CDP) is a two-year program crafted to help top emerging talent prepare for a career in sales through PROJECT-BASED ROTATIONAL ASSIGNMENTS in JCI’s Performance Infrastructure domain. Experiences include rotations in Field Sales, Technical/Engineering, Operations, Construction, and Marketing and Strategy. Participants will learn relevant skills and knowledge from virtual classroom, webinar sessions, and real-world applications. Participants will be involved with projects and initiatives that directly impact our strategic operations and business growth. Think of the program as a Fellowship that leads to a role in sales or alternative engineering on the Performance Infrastructure team.

    WHAT IS THE PERFORMANCE INFRASTRUCTURE DOMAIN

    The JCI Performance Infrastructure (PI) team works with customers to find creative technical and financing solutions to reduce their energy spend and lessen water usage in their buildings to support facility infrastructure and decarbonization goals.     HOW YOU WILL DO IT

    • Understand how our sales process works
    • Locate and understand relevant laws, statutes, and government programs that support our business
    • Learn about the types of projects JCI offers customers
    • Experience the tools we use to assess a customer’s current building conditions and develop plans to improve their buildings
    • Understand how a project gets executed, managements and constructed
    • Uncover programs in various markets that help finance customer’s goals
    • Identify, prioritize, and drive development of customer projects
    • Translate strategic insights into execution of targeted sales goals. Negotiate customer pricing
    • Strengthen your sales skills through marketing exposure
    • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to build program targeting strategy
    • Formulate messaging points of differentiation, competitive advantage and analytical proof points
    • Design analytics and implement dashboards to accurately assess, analyze, and influence seller behavior

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    REQUIRED

    • Strong interest in a career in sales
    • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, International Business, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field who expect to graduate December 2021 or January 2022 or graduated in May 2021.
    • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and exceed expectations with strong attention to detail, prioritizing tasks, and ability to think strategically at a global level.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively and creatively communicate a consistent compelling message or announcement.
    • Strong interpersonal skills give you the ability to work autonomously with little direction and leverage relationships in cross-functional groups to achieve optimal results.
    • Proficiency with MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.).
    • If hired, candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than his/her start date

    PREFERRED

    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce platforms
    • Passion for new, innovative, high growth products & services.
