    ENTRY LEVEL - SALES ENGINEERING (BEST) DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR HVAC & FIRE DOMAIN

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    OurSales Engineering (BEST) Programs are both service/technical sales development programs that focus on creating market share by strategic selling Johnson Controls’ HVAC & FIRE products and services to commercial customers.In these programs you will have a chance to apply your technical engineering knowledge and business acumen to work with customers to better understanding their product and project needs by being the subject matter expert. As part of these programs, you will participate in a 12 month training and development program combining classroom, field orientation, and on the job training. You will learn our offerings, customer relationship techniques and leadership skills in preparation for supporting customers in your territory alongside the sales team.

    You will be prepared to consult with architects, engineers, and building owners on product selections; partner with and learn from internal experts and deliver on business goals. You will be a critical part of a local sales team and a national network of sales professionals.

    Multiple locations across North America Available; we hire every January & June.

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT

    • Estimate job bids and prepare proposals with contractors, architects and building owners
    • Coordinate with vendors and sub-contractors
    • Complete sales calls to generate new business and build on existing relationships
    • Present solutions to customers for consideration
    • Collect and analyze market intelligence
    • Turn projects over to operations team for execution and installations

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    EDUCATION

    • Currently pursuing (at a minimum) a bachelor’s degree and graduating the start of the program. We hire every January and June.
    • Preferred majors:Mechanical and ElectricalEngineering

    SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

    • Strong analytical ability to solve programs and ability to learn quickly.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams with minimum guidance.
    • Strong communication and team work skills
    • Previous sales or engineering experiences through co-ops, internships, part-time or full time jobs. (preferred)

    ENTRY LEVEL – ACCELERATED CONTROLS EXCELLENCE (ACE) DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    The Johnson Controls inside sales program is a two-year program located in Milwaukee, WI designed to help top talent develop their skills and become a future leader within our company. Under general supervision, you will provide sales support for Sales Managers and Channel Account Managers. You will also provide technical support, product selection assistance, and order processing assistance to a set of customers in an assigned region. This position will help you gain experience in a sales role while you provide value to our customers and field sales team.

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT

    • Provide technical, commercial, and pricing support to field sales personnel and customers.
    • Develop relationships with managed and maintained customer accounts to generate new business opportunities and promote new product releases.
    • Establish quarterly cadence with Channel Account Managers to attend and participate in customer facing meetings.
    • Attend weekly training sessions to build HVAC/R systems knowledge, product knowledge, learn sales management tools, learn sales tactics and processes
    • Perform high levels of customer service when issues arise with order management, quality concerns, pricing discrepancies, and product application support
    • Develop working relationships with Price Administration, Customer Service, and Product Management teams.
    • Lead product presentations internal to your team a to prepare for customer facing presentations and webinar opportunities

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    • Bachelor’s degree minimum (Mechanical Engineering Degree highly preferred)
    • Undergraduate senior expecting to graduate by the start of the program. We hire every January & June.
    • Proficiency with MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), internet software and e-mail

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS (PREFERRED)

    • Internship experience in HVAC/controls industry is highly preferred
    • 1-3 years of sales experience

    TECHNICAL SALES BEST INTERNSHIP- OPEN TO UNDERGRADUATES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    We are seeking junior and senior level engineering students to join our Buildings Engineering Sales Program as in intern for summer 2021. Our training program will give you the opportunity to demonstrate customer focus and prepare you to succeed in a career of sales engineering. In this program you will have a chance to apply your technical engineering knowledge and work with customers to better understand product or project needs and be the subject matter expert. The program consists of a nine-week training with successful sales executives and managers through e-learning and hands-on, real world experiences. Multiple positions at various sites across the United States are available.

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    REQUIRED

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university with a junior or senior status
    • Pursuing a degree in engineering
    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
    • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout Summer 2021

    SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - FULL TIME

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    The SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is a 2-year program that develops recent college graduates into future leaders of Johnson Controls (JCI). During the 2-year commitment, individuals spend 6 months in each of 4 rotations in order to gain an overall understanding of the material control and procurement responsibilities within JCI as well as exposure to various business models and functions within the company. Rotations are located within the US, with expectations to relocate about every 6 months to obtain experience at corporate and within plants for Supplier Scheduling, Production Scheduling, Materials Requirement Planning, purchasing, and logistics. Employees are challenged to take on additional work outside of their day-to-day responsibilities to gain further knowledge and increase their network within the company. Additional training and development opportunities are consistently presented to the employee and the expectation is that all opportunities will be taken. The program is managed by a steering team of materials, procurement, and logistics leaders from within the company. At the end of the 2-year assignment, employees along with the steering team work to find employees their post-graduation role within the business typically as a PBU Buyer or Master Production Scheduler with the intent to move into higher level positions.

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT

    • Data collection and analysis for on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, Inventory DOH and transportation execution as required.
    • Reporting and tracking inventory or scheduling data, developing required analysis, and managing specific actions based on business requirements.
    • Generate in a timely manner analysis to support decisions that generate efficiencies and simplification in scheduling and operations.
    • Maintain effective working relationship and communication with all departments, takes advantage of networking opportunities.
    • Production Scheduling / Materials Requirement Planning / Supplier Scheduling / JIRA Escalations & Resolution
    • Manages daily support of production needs such as schedule attainment tracking, capacity constraints, scheduling analysis and cycle times to support business requirements related to production, inventory control, inventory planning, and scheduling.
    • Supports Continuous Improvements analysis and projects from Materials department to ensure production schedule attainment improvements, customer delivery, and transportation execution are met while maximizing quality and minimizing inventory and/or costs.
    • Develops analysis for improvements on process for Scheduling and interaction with Material Requirement Planning process and systems.
    • Establish and manage databases or information with data integrity to develop analysis that enable inventory control, scheduling decisions, supplier performance, etc.
    • Establishes and maintains specific reports to ensure that there is availability of materials to the Manufacturing floor and enable Operational efficiency.
    • Manages daily support of material availability, and inventory analysis to support business requirements for interaction with suppliers.
    • Manages effective relationships with suppliers at tactical level
    • Learn the JCMS (Johnson Controls Manufacturing System) maturity model and support plant in meeting current level as well as achieving next.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain
    • The ability to relocate across the U.S. for each assignment (4 rotations, 6 months each assignment)

    • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software with strong excel skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
    • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
    • Normal mechanical and analytical ability is a must with knowledge of statistical techniques and problem resolution.
