    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a position in our internship program located in Westford, MA or Colorado Springs, CO. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

    Must be available to work 20 hours/week during the school year beginning Feb 2022 and 40 hours/week during school breaks. This is a hybrid remote/onsite position.

    HOW YOU WILL DO IT:

    • Entry level/internship position responsible for developing, updating, and integrating JCI Access Control technical training course curriculum in the form of Student Guides, syllabus, exams banks, assignments, assessments, and performance labs.
    • Develop instructional materials using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Captivate and/or Madcap Flare tools.
    • Assess, design, develop, implement and evaluate training material/deliverables providing recommendations on the accuracy of and relevancy of content of curriculum and performance support products (i.e. student guides, training plans, lab guides, exams, etc.) focused on objective-based content development primarily using the ADDIE system.
    • Align certification compliance requirements of training content with company/business training standards related to technical instruction and professional education.

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited university or college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Education
    • Graduating no sooner than Dec 2022
    • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
    • Standard to Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience with ADDIE and objective-based curriculum development
    • High level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability
    • Once trained on site training projects, the position requires the applicant to work independently with average to minimal supervision
    • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
    • Ability to learn new, cutting-edge access control systems, technical processes and interact with software engineers on a daily or weekly basis
    • Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding he/she from receiving the vaccine.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with Adobe Captivate, Madcap Flare, HTML, XML and/or SQL
    • Preferred knowledge in a technical training/ instructional design environment
    • Software Engineering experience, cybersecurity and/or technical writing experience
