Job Summary Under general supervision, responsible for administrating and/or coordinating construction efforts through in-house and contract labor for new construction and rebuild projects. Responsible for construction personnel safety and quality of work performed. Responsibilities - Update Workfront for various construction projects - Update weekly construction production reports for multiple Business areas - QC and Complete Workfront Task as assigned by Construction Director. - Submit MARs material request for multiple Business areas. - Provides quality internal and external customer service reflecting Suddenlinks values - Plans daily route, requisitions equipment and supplies and stocks vehicle - Maintains and secures Suddenlink truck and equipment - Installs, tests and troubleshoots Suddenlink services including video, data and telephone - Uses small hand tools, power tools, meters, and other test equipment - Meets schedule appointment windows - Completes work orders and other documentation on paper or by using a truck-mounted or mobile computer - Performs other duties as assigned Essential Functions - Coordinate with engineers and developers in designing the plant; draw and sketch installation and location of equipment such as amplifiers, power supplies and cables; complete material orders needed for planned construction - Monitor contractor performance; insure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements - Coordinate construction efforts through in-house and contract labor for new construction and rebuild projects, - and with other utilities and various government entities - Perform site inspections for quality control - Coordinate permitting and make ready process - Respond to customer concerns - Communicate with Project Manager or designated supervisor regarding concerns about construction progress - Performs locates as necessary - Performs other duties as requested by supervisor - Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record within Company required standards and auto insurance - Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices - Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies - Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 28 ft high and 75 pounds) - Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires - Ability to dig in all types of soil - Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner - Ability to manipulate connectors, fasteners, wires, and use hand tools - Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs) - Ability to prioritize and organize effectively - Ability to read general system layouts from blueprints - Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner - Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including gaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts - Ability to work independently - Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time Qualifications / Requirements - CATV system operations work experience - 2 years - CATV construction work experience - 2 years - Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics - Knowledge of cable television products and services - Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code - High School Diploma or GED and technical/vocational training or equivalent work experience - Completed NCTI Installer Technician course or equivalent - We are an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Vet and maintain a drug-free and smoke-free workplace
