JOB SUMMARY Responsible for routing, sizing, preparation and approval, activation, installation, splicing knowledge of coax and expert understanding of fiber optic distribution systems and equipment in a manner that ensures company technical requirements are adhered to, thereby ensuring minimal customer interruptions during the new build/rebuild phase through high level operational efficiency. Position serves as a conduit for delivery of new products to the customer. Ensures individual and crew compliance with vehicle, safety, OSHA, National Electrical Safety Code and Building Officials Code Administration. Valid States Drivers License within State of Employment with CDL where applicable ILLUSTRATIVE ACCOUNTABILITIES - Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding company values - Proficient in fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting - Performs quality service documentation of optical links - Contributes in commercial and residential quotes and BoM creations - Works on cable plant installation, splicing, trenching, and back filling construction projects - Operates a jackhammer, compressor power equipment, backhoe, and boring equipment in a buried system - Loads and operates the lasher, ties off lashing wire, drills holes, uses hardware to attach cable strands, and prepares system for splicing - Completes construction work on CATV system design prints - Maintains construction equipment in proper working order - Performs responsibilities of Construction Technician I & II as necessary - Assists in pre-wiring and installation activities - Digs trenches and removes soil prior to cable installation in a buried system - Pulls lasher, strand or cable between poles - Supplies crewmembers with necessary tools and hardware - Plans daily activity, requisitions equipment and supplies, and stocks vehicle - Completes job documentation on paper or by using a computer - Resolves or escalates customer complaints - Uses small hand tools, power tools, meters and other test equipment - Operates a bucket truck - Maintains and secures Company truck and equipment - Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and beyond regular work hours as required - Mentors and coaches of Construction Technician I level techs as necessary - Performs other duties as assigned ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
