    Bioprocess and Bioengineering Summer Intern - Job Details Level Entry Job Location Minneapolis - Minneapolis, MN Position Type Internship Job Category Science Description Project scope: - Build a gas-electrical controller box for reactor control from start to finish this will give student a system design concept and hands-on training in industrial setting. - Validate and optimize our in-house build 4PLEX FPLC system using controlled antibody stock solutions and cell culture conditioned media; Detailed description: Gas-Electrical Controller box we are in process to upgrade our cell culture controller boxes, which involves design knowledge and hands on experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering. The summer intern is expected to acquire components, and make together PID drawings, build and validate the 1-2 controller systems in live cell culture reactor processes. As for the 2nd project above, the student is expected to use statistical DOE, Lab experience and be involved in writing validation protocols and conducting tests to validate the system for GMP applications. After completing the validation of the system, the student it expected to use the system to optimize antibody purification processes with regard to time efficiency, buffer usage, and product purity and quality. This optimized protocol will bring long term benefits to monoclonal antibody purification processes at Bio-Techne. Internship Details Schedule: This program will run eleven weeks starting Monday, June 4th, 2018 and ending Friday, August 17th, 2018. This position is full-time, with the 40 hours generally worked between 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Students must be able to work full-time for the entire length of the program. Wages: $15.00/hour Who You Are This internship positions are designed to give Junior level college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. All interns will be required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Eligible students must: - Be a junior-level college student, as determined by the number of college credits completed by the application deadline. - Must have a major in a field related to the internship for which they are applying. - Hold a GPA of 3.0 or better in science courses. Successful applicants must have completed introductory courses and made progress in their required upper-division level of coursework. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are as well as computer entry and/or typing skills are desirable. Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, multi task, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
