What You'll Do Here: The National Geographic Learning K12 Digital Content and Experience Team provides a competitive advantage to the development and design of our programs by fueling digital product creation. Our mission is to champion best-in-class digital experiences that inspire learning by leveraging National Geographic content, design, and technology solutions. We are seeking a Digital Producer with a strong technical and creative aptitude and proven experience managing content-driven digital products. The primary responsibility of this role is to help guide and support the workflow of multiple concurrent digital projects for our Science and Social Studies Product teams. The position will report to the Director of Digital Content & User Experience. Key responsibilities of the role include: Project Management Use core project management, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills to deliver quality program s accurately and on-time. Draft and maintain clear project scope, documentation, tracking and specifications. Communicate digital project status and expectations to all stakeholders across all lifecycle steps. Identify issues and mitigate quickly, with a strong sense of diplomacy and urgency. Enforce best practices for how to optimize, aggregate and packag e assets for digital products. Ensure quality control before handoff to Digital Publishing Services. Facilitate timely and effective closure of issues prior to product launch. Process and Workflow Improvement Provide continuous improvement across product development, production, UX/UI, and technology focused on innovations for new products. Ensure best practices in content meta-tagging and data management. Create frameworks for cataloging and managing data and asset types. Develop systems that streamline and organize the current nascent digital deployment process. Ensure that team is apprised of project status and that all deadlines are met. Product Development Support vertical slice development in partnership with the product team, UX/UI design, technology, operations and QA. Assess user data to help inform digital content/product decisions. Skills You Will Need Here: Bachelor's degree Experience ( 3-5 years) as a Digital Producer in digital publishing, broadcast, agency, and/or software development . Demonstrated critical eye for detail. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to maintain flexibility and a sense of humor under pressure. Ability to communicate effectively in a changing business environment. Detail-oriented, with focus on accuracy, quality, and accountability. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects at once. Familiarity and experience with ticketing and workflow systems such as JIRA. Knowledge and understanding of website structure and use of Javascript and CSS to create web experiences. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity and experience with Workfront or similar programs. Ability to write HTML, XML, JavaScript and CSS is a plus. Experience in a digital innovation and/or rapid prototyping environment .
