- Part-time, Internship Internship Description: Central Valley Health
Network is seeking interns for site specific service throughout the
greater Central Valley and northern California. Site locations include
the following cities: Stockton, Yuba City, Placerville, Sacramento,
Livingston and Madera. This is a paid internship of $11 an hour, and
working hours are 20 hours per week for a six-month time span
(September-March). The goal of this internship is to prepare young
professionals for careers in health care or to gain vital experience in
preparation for professional or medical school. The selected candidate
will be responsible for assisting and supporting site supervisors with a
variety of public health initiatives. Job Functions and
Responsibilities: * Development and implementation of education on
health center programs and services * Plan and attend of community
health fairs and community events * Development of educational material
- Support the development of emergency preparedness plans * Creation and
execution of specialty informational classes for health center members *
Quality improvement initiatives at the health center Job Requirements: *
Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled at
an accredited college/university and who will be continuing their
undergraduate studies or Masters degree. Candidates should be seeking a
degree in Health Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, Health
Administration, Human Development or a related field. * Must have
excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
effectively communicate to a variety of audiences * Demonstrated
cultural competency * Demonstrated written and analytical ability *
Ability to effectively manage your time and commit to a required
schedule * Understanding of health care principles and implementation of
health education programs * Reliable transportation to and from the
internship environment * Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not
