Job Summary: Responsible for the implementing design standards of
existing broadband communication systems. Design systems and
collaborates with internal peers to determine project specifications.
Inspects projects periodically to ensure adherence to project
specifications. Prepares and maintains project documentation.
Coordinates with internal personnel related to new service areas and to
ensure we meet the needs of the regional construction teams. Works with
moderate supervision/guidance. Core Responsibilities: - Designs
broadband communication systems using various design software packages.
- Produces layout designs for coaxial and fiber placement, and fiber
routing and connectivity. - Verifies designs are in adherence to
regional hybrid fiber coax (HFC) architecture - Conducts analysis to
determine efficiency, equipment economy, and systems operation
simplicity. - Collaborates with internal design personnel to adhere to
all existing design criteria in preparation of coax\fiber design layouts
and detail drawings. Incorporates all existing design criteria and
performance specifications required to meet unique plant operating
requirements. - Reviews construction plans and requests to ensure
adherence to established drawings, specifications and schedules, as it
relates to quality control. - Prepares special keys, charts, diagrams,
and graphic drawings as requested. - Updates and maintains system maps,
keys, design files, system spreadsheets and documents. - Creates project
packages for construction including design prints and bill of materials.
- Develops relationship with outside field personnel as it relates new
service area designs. - Provides all necessary design applications to
aid in meeting the needs of the construction team to resolve any
external customer issues. - Exercises consistent independent judgment
and discretion in all matters, to provide a great internal customer
experience. - Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. - Must be
able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. -

and our communities Education Level: - Bachelors Degree or Equivalent,
Computer Science; Engineering Certifications: - SCTE Certifications
Preferred Years of Experience: - Generally requires 2-5 years related
experience - Experience with Oracle preferred - Experience with Database
Management preferred - RF Design Software / Bentley Comms / SpacialNet -
Knowledge of Outside Plant Networks preferred
